Symtek

Symtek was founded in 1975 in San Diego and was one of the earliest manufacturers of handlers for the semi conductor industry. The Symtek 300 handler is one of the most reliable tri-temperature handlers for DIL devices ever made. Many future Symtek handler designs used the basic system 300 as a handling platform.

Aetrium acquired Symtek in 1994, adding Symtek’s pick-and-place automation technology for testing memory chips to Aetrium's strength in gravity-feed handling for logic chips. Symtek is a division of Aetrium and its products are sold under the Aetrium name. However, older Symtek handlers are still highly regarded and remain in wide use in the semi conductor industry.
